Zumbrota Welcomes New Men's Clothing Store, Marlowe by Dwell Local

Downtown Zumbrota continues to thrive with the addition of new small businesses, the latest being Marlowe, a men's specialty casual clothing, accessories, and gift store. Located directly across from its sister store, Dwell Local, Marlowe is the newest addition to downtown by serial entrepreneur and shop owner Paul Bennett.

Dwell Local, a gift, home, and specialty food store, has been a Zumbrota staple for over five years. Bennett explained that the inspiration for Marlowe stemmed from a noticeable lack of men's clothing options in the area. "There's been no men's clothing stores in this town for a while," he commented, adding that while Zumbrota has great stores, menswear was lacking. Having lived in larger cities and on the West Coast, Bennett recognized the growing trend of men taking a greater interest in fashion and what they wear. When the space became available, he seized the opportunity, quickly traveling to Chicago to begin sourcing merchandise at. a large trade show.

The building itself was a major undertaking. Bennett described it as "tired," consisting of a long hallway with ten offices, low ceilings, and having previously served as everything from general office space to a chiropractor's office. However, with the support of the building's owner, Bennett transformed the space into a warm and inviting retail environment.

Marlow carries a variety of brands, including well-known names like Pendleton, a classic American casual wear brand. Other featured brands include 7Diamonds, a popular brand in the Upper Midwest offering beautiful casual wear with exceptional fabrics. Marlowe also carries other great American known brands. Bennett emphasized the approachable nature of the clothing, perfect for everyday wear, acknowledging the shift away from traditional office attire.

Beyond clothing, Marlowe also offers a curated selection of gifts, including barware for cocktails and mocktails (a concept also featured at Dwell Local), games, puzzles, Minnesota-themed items, and seasonal accessories like hats, gloves, scarves, and socks.

Marlowe is currently open seven days a week.Appointments for after-hours shopping are also available.
