Proposed Development:Harter's Disposal recycling transfer station

In a letter submitted to the city of Rochester Harter's Disposal shares the following:

"The planned facility will serve as a centralized location where Harter's Disposal trucks can unload collected recyclables onto our tipping area. The materials will then be compacted and loaded into a designated trailer for transport to Green Circle Recycling in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This streamlined process will increase operational efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and minimize environmental impact."

In May 2023 Harter's started serving Olmsted County and has been leasing a commercial space new Stewartville to operate the business. As of December 27th, 2024 the La Crosse, WI based disposal company made a substantial investment into the Olmsted county expansion by purchasing the property at 2450 Marion Road SW Rochester, MN 55904 for $3,575,000. This property was listed for sale by the Realty Growth Inc brokerage team for several years. It features multiple buildings including a 23,000 Sqft office building that after the acquisition they intend to try and sell as they do not have use for the building.

In plans submitted by ISG on behalf of Harter's the transfer station is situated in the NW corner of a 11.12 Acre parcel of land. A new proposed driveway is set to be installed of Marion Road SE with 3 Pgase brought to the site. The structure to have sidewalls made out of block retaining wall's and a floor as poured concrete.
