What began as an inquiry in September 2024 has now become a new chapter for one of Minnesota’s long-standing family-owned businesses. J.H. Larson, a trusted name in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC supplies since 1931, has officially expanded into the Rochester market with the grand opening of their new facility at 1805 Woodlake Drive SE.
The expansion was initiated by Jason Meyer, Executive Director and Broker at Cushman & Wakefield in Bloomington, MN, who was working on behalf of J.H. Larson to secure a location in the growing Rochester area. “This is something the company had discussed for years,” said Meyer, “but 2024 was the year to finally make the move.”
The chosen property — formerly home to Culligan Water Softener and most recently Unitedly Heating & Cooling — became available as Unitedly transitioned out of business. After a thorough tour of the area and available spaces, the J.H. Larson team, including Director of Sales & Operations Taylor Weikert and President Luke Paul, set their sights on the Woodlake Drive location. Eventually, an offer was made and accepted, securing the company's next step in regional growth.
J.H. Larson celebrated its grand opening with an event that brought together HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors, as well as vendor partners. Guests toured the state-of-the-art facility, which features a designer showroom for plumbing and lighting fixtures, a well-stocked sales floor, and a spacious warehouse to support efficient product distribution.
Representing the company’s deeply rooted family values, CEO Greg Paul, President Luke Paul, and Secretary-Treasurer Jasmine Paul were all in attendance, along with other members of the Paul family. Their visible involvement is a testament to the company's strong commitment to service, relationships, and community presence.
“We’re excited not just to serve our existing customers more effectively, but also to meet new contractors, builders, and homeowners in Rochester,” said Luke Paul. “This location will help us form new relationships that will grow with us over time.”
J.H. Larson’s expansion to Rochester reinforces the strength and resilience of family-owned businesses in the Midwest and marks a new opportunity for local contractors and residents to access high-quality equipment, supplies, and service close to home.
