A new family entertainment venue has arrived in Rochester's River Center Plaza, offering a unique twist on the classic arcade experience. Hyperspace Starcade, owned by Nicole and Chuck Marino, celebrated its grand opening recently, bringing a prize-focused gaming experience to the community.
Unlike traditional arcades, Hyperspace Starcade focuses on skill-based games where every play guarantees a prize. Players accumulate prizes, which can then be traded up for larger and more desirable items, similar to the prize booths at a fair. With 78 games across 13 different machine types, including claw machines, crane games, and push-button games, there's something for everyone.
"We wanted to create a family entertainment space that Rochester needed," explains owner Nicole Marino. "It's a step up from our mobile game truck and laser tag business. This is our first brick-and-mortar location."
Hyperspace Starcade offers more than just arcade games. They also host birthday parties and other events. The business also continues to operate their mobile game truck, featuring laser tag for up to 20 players and virtual reality experiences for up to six.
Located in the River Center Plaza, near Tea Time, Kingdom Buffet, Corona Tacos, and Salon Chic, Hyperspace Starcade offers ample parking for visitors. The owners encourage families to stop by and experience the fun.
"We're excited to be part of the Rochester community," says Chuck Marino. "We hope families will come and enjoy the unique gaming experience we offer."
